Earth moving is a fundamental part of almost all civil and commercial infrastructure projects. Earth moving (or earthworks) is the process of moving or removing earth and other materials as part of an engineering project, such as in the construction of railways, roads, bridges, trenches, canals, tunnels and buildings.
Earth moving may be the first step, last step or the entire basis of a project. For example, earth moving may be required in an initial site scape ensuring an engineering project has a solid foundation. Earth moving could be the entire basis of a project (like the excavation and earth moving required for metro tunnels, road projects, or rail projects) where large volumes of earth or other materials need to be handled, hauled and carted away. Earth moving could be required at the end of a project where topography needs to be reconfigured or to facilitate land rehabilitation or other land grading (for example to stabilise ground).
All engineering projects require some earth moving, and it is therefore critical that teams have the capacity for earth moving in a quick, safe and efficient matter to ensure there are no delays in projects.
At Active Transport, to complement our truck fleet, our plant and equipment hire includes earth moving equipment and accessories such as: excavators, graders, loaders, bulldozers, tractors, backhoe loaders, the list goes on.
